As per search keywords, in it, they’re a lot of hidden keywords you know not about.
You optimize your content for some specific keywords but you know not what exactly the search term they rank for.
That’s a whole lot of problem if you may ask.
But don’t speak under your duvet yet, a free tool called Google search console will help track these hidden keywords for better optimization.
And if you ain’t sign up yet, you can do that right here.

Guide 1 Familiarize yourself with the Google search console keyword dashboard
Google search console does a whole lot of things, it helps rank your well-optimized pages for different search terms.
Even at that, if you optimize the content for a target keyword and you probably don’t know the search terms it’s ranking for.
It's just simple.
But, never mind, there’s a free tool that helps you identify and point out these hidden keywords and secretly shows how you can optimize your blogspot post for them.
And here’s the thing.
This data analysis tool called Google search console helps track the performance of your blogspot blog or web pages on SERP.
Which likely goes this way, after signing up, you arrive at the main page dashboard(overview section).
On the left-hand side, click on the Performance tab, it fetches that above.
The data drafts out the following:
- Total clicks.
- Average CTR(click-through-rate).
- Total impressions(how many times your website appears to the audience).
- Average position(it differs based on its calculated averagely, means it is calculated based on the highest web page position that appears on SERP.
For instance, if two of your blogspot web pages showed up on the SERP, one rank at position 2, the other at position 3.
The average position of such a web page is 2.5.
Below it, there’s a big picture of the data analysis of each individual page and how they’re fairly organically.
The horizontal tab allows you to analyze further based on the queries pointing to your blogspot blog.
The page URLs driving end-users to your site.
The countries they’re engaging from.
Also, the device that helps them arrive at your blogspot blog.
- Tablet.
- Desktop.
- Mobile.
Search appearance – AMP.
After all, let’s think about how to leverage this trick.
Now let’s jump into the frame and see how to evaluate this data analysis in a simple format.
Guide 2 Compile(export) web page keywords to Google sheet
To begin with, the data analysis, segment each page data individually.
That way, it’s simple to understand which keywords your blogspot post is ranking for.
And to do that, select the page tab and export the data to Google sheets.
The Google sheet dashboard pops up.
So to analyze which pages have the potential of driving more traffic on your blogspot blog.
Sure, you’ll have to sort those web pages in Google sheet.
And here’s how to do that.
As shown below;
Highlight the cells from column A to E.
Kindly click the data in the menu tab.
Select the sort in range option and for the header row check it.
Now, select impressions,
Choose the other option Z – A
Click the sort tab to generate the result.
Now, the data result shows the individual web page rank based on the number of impressions.
And in addition to the data result, the web pages at the top are likely to drive more traffic to your blog if optimized well.
Guide 3 Study the data result
To further analyze the keywords, go back to the overview dashboard.
Click the new button.
Paste the first web page URL into the unfilled space. Click apply.
Now, select the queries tab.
After all, export it to Google sheets and your dashboard goes live.
Here’s the thing.
Repeat this method as previously done above, sort it by impressions and click on the sort button.
Guide 4 Analyze using conditional formatting
If you’re very conversant with excel, you should know about this(conditional formatting).
it just a set of rules that govern a data preset on a spreadsheet and this will help to analyze your keywords in an adequate and sequence order.
You can also use it to visualize keywords you want to leverage on.
Conditional formatting consists of different rules depending on what type you want to focus on.
For instance, if I go by this rule;
Highlight roles with average position 13 Green
The average position between 20 – 30 Yellow
Highlight Average position 32 and higher in red.
That way, everything has become so flexible to work with and further optimize it for higher CTR.
Guide 5 optimize the result
In a case where the impression is high and the CTR is low, here’s what you should do to that.
Change the title tag i.e headline, probably isn’t catchy enough, it isn’t your thing.
Check the meta description or metadata, probably it isn’t resonating with the headline and audience’s interest.
In order to get it done for you(traffic and CTR), do the following:
- Write the headline based on search intent.
- Use more of an active word.
- Use a call to actions on your meta description or metadata – not necessarily call now or buy now if you ain’t running a business venture.
- Make sure 2-3 keywords in your headline reflects in your meta description or metatag.
- Use EMV – Emotional Marketing Value.
Guide 6 Track the keywords result over time
After changing all, get yourself into the picture and track the result over time.
Study whether there’re changes in CTR or any increase in traffic.
If there is, it shows your marketing efforts work but if not, repeat them again and make it more appealing to the audience.
Conclusion
To increase your blogspot traffic, you have to go beyond the front scene and leverage behind the scene.
You’ll have to do a whole lot of data analysis assignments, then study the keywords with a lot of potentials (driving more traffic).
With that, your optimization for them will be a bit easy.
So, over to you, how do you want to use keywords to increase your blogspot traffic? Any other way?
