1. Find a Niche
Finding a niche is the most important and challenging decision when claiming a place online. Many times, bloggers often make a costly mistake about this decision. The only way you can be relevant and exceptional is to know what exactly you want to offer your visitors without diverting your attention to something else.
The decision you make right now will reflect on your success afterward. So keep it relevant. There are many niches you could choose from, like:
- Relationship blog
- Inspirational blog
- Internet\Digital Marketing blog
- Motivational blog
- Gossip\Latest news blog
- Fashion blog
- Mobile phone blog
- Business blog
- Event blog, etc

Let’s say, you finally discover your niche, then, what is next? Start by building a website, website is your home online, this is where potential and existing visitors get to know you and what you can offer them.
There are a ton of websites you can start with, like WordPress, mix, blogger, etc.

Blogger or Blogspot website
This is a free website created by Google.
How will I start a blogspot website?
All bloggers website has a generic name i.e https:\\yourname.blogspot.com
Well, just log in to http://blogger.com
Sign up with a Gmail – then a screen like this will pop up.
Then, type the name you want to use, if the name isn’t available it will alerts you that someone else has taken it, so you have to pick another name.
Then press continue
Your blogger dashboard will show up, please don’t think of writing a post yet.
Navigate to the setting tab, click on basic.
Type the keyword you want to give your website, for instance, “Business blog in Nigeria” then click the save button.
At the description tab, describe what your blog is all about. Then hit the save button.
Move to the search appearance under setting, type the meta description of the words that should appear on the search engine for your website, click on the Save button.

How will I know whether it is mobile-friendly or not?
Make sure the theme is SEO-FRIENDLY – to check – visit Google mobile-friendly tools on the search engines.
2. Submit the URL of your website
How will I track my website visitor with Google analytics?
Google Analytics gives a piece of wealth information or data about your visitor’s behavior, retention, average time spent on page and website, bounce rate, search term, etc.
Navigate to the setting tab of your blogger website – click others – stroll down to Google analytic tab – paste the first code there.
Go back to your Google analytics profile – click on Real-time – Refresh the page – stop until you see a user.
You will start receiving data in the next 24 or 48 hrs.
How will I track my website performance on the search engines?
Google search console gives a piece of information about the performance of a website on the search engine, it also alerts website owners about any technical issues like page errors, security issues, how many pages has an index, etc.
Sign up with a Gmail account – at the property tab – put the URL of your website – then a search console dashboard will show up.
How will I read the performance of my website?
- CTR – means click-through-rate i.e how many times searchers click on content on the web
- Impressions – This means how many times a website appears in the search engine.
- Average CTR – means the percentage CTR rate of a website i.e if a content shows up to 40 searchers but 20 clicks the content, your average position is 50%.
How will I read each page of my website?
Click on the menu button – hit the performance tab – stroll down – you will see
QUERIES – PAGES – COUNTRIES – SEARCH TYPE – SEARCH APPEARANCE
- Queries – This means the keyword that is driving users to a website.
- Pages – means a website page that is showing up on the search engine result list
- Countries – countries that are engaging with your pages.
- Search types –
web search – image search – video search
This shows us which of the search type that is driving traffic to a website. That’s why is good to check regularly so that you can optimize your content for a better ranking on the search engine.

3. How to install the search console on WordPress?
Google search console will show up – click on the alt tag – copy the HTML code – navigate to your WordPress dashboard – click on Yoast SEO – General – webmaster – then paste the code.
Go back to your search console dashboard – click on the verify button – then a screen will show up that you are a verified owner.
How to install Google Analytics for WordPress?
Create a Google analytics profile – visit http://google.com\analytics – copy the code and paste it in the header section of your theme.
4. How to create SEO-FRIENDLY post on WordPress?
Navigate to post – click on the add new – a screen like this will show up – type the title tag you want to use – scroll down – click on the edit snippet to see whether the title width is okay.
- Title Tag – The title tag must reflect your keyword. Let’s say your keyword is Fashion, then the title tag must look like: 10 things you don’t know about fashion in Nigeria.
- Meta Tag – This is the summary of your content on the search engines. The keyword Fashion must reflect here, let’s say “fashion is a way of showcasing your beauty and charisma” make it short and engaging.
- Keyword Density – The body text of your post must surround the keyword fashion but avoid keyword stuffing.
- H Tag – let two of your sub-heading reflect your keyword
- Image Text – The title and alt text of your image must reflect your keyword

Navigate to the WordPress dashboard – click on media – press the add new button – select a picture from the gallery – click on the picture – then insert the keyword and give a proper description of the image – like – A man with fashion dress.

Simply go for the keyword with high relevance and traffic but low competition.
7. Visit Forum
Visit a forum related to your niche to know what information people aren’t really getting. Then begin to correlate those ideas for your post in order to resonate with your audience's interest.
8. Search Engine
Use the Search Engine to list out suggested or related keyword people are searching for in your niche.
